Pathologist Consultant

Role & responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure quality control for all

  biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, and clinical pathology tests

  .
• Verify, validate, and sign out all laboratory reports with accuracy and in compliance with

  NABL / ISO standards

  .
• Monitor and guide the laboratory technicians to maintain

  accuracy, sample integrity, and turnaround time (TAT)

  .
• Establish and review

  Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  and ensure adherence to best laboratory practices.
• Interpret test results and consult with physicians and clinicians when required.
  
• Support quality assurance, equipment calibration, and reagent management.
  
• Participate in

  internal audits, proficiency testing, and external quality assurance programs (EQAS)

  .
• Ensure proper documentation, safety protocols, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  
• Provide training and skill enhancement sessions for lab staff.
  
• Collaborate with the management team for

  lab process improvement and operational excellence

  .

Preferred candidate profile

• Education:

  MD / DNB / DCP in Pathology from a recognized medical university.

• Experience:

  Minimum

  3 to 8 years

  of hands-on experience in a

  diagnostic laboratory or hospital environment

  .
• Should be confident in

  independent reporting

  for Biochemistry, Hematology, and Clinical Pathology.
• Prior experience working in a

  NABL-accredited lab

  or exposure to

  ISO 15189 standards

  preferred.
• Strong knowledge of

  quality control, EQAS participation, and SOP implementation

  .
• Skilled in

  verification, validation, and interpretation

  of diagnostic results.
• Proficiency in

  Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)

  and digital reporting tools.
• Excellent

  analytical, observational, and decision-making skills

  .
• Capable of leading and training a team of

  technicians and lab assistants

  .
• Committed to

  accuracy, ethics, and patient-centric diagnostic practices

  .
• Candidates

  based in or willing to relocate to Hosur, Tamil Nadu

  will be preferred.
