As a Patent Proofreader, your role involves proofreading US Patent Applications and US Issued Patents, as well as preparing Certificate of Correction (COC). You will be responsible for Patent Term Adjustment and Expiry Calculation Reports, ensuring adherence to the Standard Operating Procedure for Proofreading. Your main responsibilities include reviewing Patents for identifying errors in grammar, punctuation, antecedents, scientific terms, complex structures, numerical tables, mathematical formulas, consistency of terms, amendments incorporation, critical bibliographic details, etc. that may have been made by the US Patent Office or the Applicant of the patent application. Additionally, you will utilize online patent databases to gather relevant information and compile Patent Proofing Reports. It is crucial to maintain the accuracy and integrity of all data and information handled in this role. Qualifications required for this position include: - Education: A Bachelors or Masters degree in Science or English subject. - Experience: Minimum of 2 years of work experience as a Patent Proofreader with excellent knowledge of the US Patent Prosecution Life Cycle. Key qualifications, skills, and abilities for this role are: - Working knowledge of MS suite, specifically related to Outlook features, Word, and Excel. - Familiarity with PDF Editors like Adobe Acrobat, Nuance, or Nitor. - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. - Proficiency in following written and oral instructions in the English language with excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation. - Strong organizational skills to prioritize work in a dynamic environment, meeting deadlines with high accuracy. - Attention to detail and analytical mindset are essential. - Demonstrated patience and perseverance in learning subject matter and skill refinement.
