Job Description

You will be responsible for leading and managing the parts operations for a fleet of concrete mixers, heavy trucks, and construction vehicles. This includes overseeing inventory management, supplier coordination, parts ordering, logistics, and departmental staff. Your role is crucial in ensuring optimal parts availability, cost control, and timely service to support maintenance operations and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the daily operations of the parts department, including stock control, ordering, and distribution. - Manage a team of parts coordinators, storekeepers, and support staff. - Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure timely procurement of high-quality parts at competitive prices. - Implement effective inventory management systems to minimize downtime and reduce carrying costs. - Ensure all parts processes comply with company policies and regulatory standards. - Coordinate closely with service and maintenance teams to forecast parts demand. - Analyze usage trends and prepare regular reports on stock levels, purchasing, and costs. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the department's workflow and customer service. - Ensure correct documentation and systems usage (e.g., ERP, DMS). - Maintain proper safety, cleanliness, and organization of parts storage facilities. - Train and mentor staff on best practices and company policies. Requirements: - Proven experience as a Parts Manager or similar role in the automotive/heavy vehicle industry. - Strong knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle systems, especially concrete mixers, trucks, and construction equipment. - Excellent organizational and leadership skills. - Familiarity with parts procurement software and inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent). - Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions. - Strong communication and negotiation skills. - Technical qualification or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field (preferred). - Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in a managerial role.
