Packaging Engineer

Role & responsibilities:

• Design and develop packaging solutions for motors, fan assemblies, electronics, and mechanical components ensuring safe handling and transportation.
• Perform packaging validation including drop test, vibration test, compression test, and transit trial analysis.
• Collaborate with suppliers to develop innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging materials.
• Create and maintain packaging specifications, drawings, BOMs, artwork, and documentation.
• Partner with Product Development, Production, and NPD teams to define packaging requirements for new product introductions.
• Ensure compliance with country-specific labelling, safety norms, EPR guidelines, and export packaging standards.
• Drive packaging cost-reduction initiatives through design optimization, material standardization, and alternate sourcing.
• Conduct vendor packaging audits and ensure adherence to approved standards across manufacturing and warehouse locations.
• Implement eco-friendly initiatives including recyclability, reduction of thermocol usage, and optimization of carton volumes.
• Support quality and supply chain teams during product trials, pilot builds, and packaging validation stages.
• Develop dashboards and reports (Excel/Power BI) to track packaging performance, costs, and improvements.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Strong knowledge of corrugated packaging, molded pulp, EPE/EPS foams, cushioning design, and carton structure.
• Understanding of export packing, ESD packaging for electronic components, moisture control and anti-rust packaging.
• Knowledge of labelling norms, ISO documentation, and vendor audit requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and packaging BOM creation.
• Working knowledge of

  CAD tools (AutoCAD / SolidWorks)

  for packaging design (advantage).
• Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and detail orientation.
