Packaging Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Client Solution Engineering

• Interpret client drawings, sketches, and technical requirements for wooden packaging solutions
• Conduct technical consultations to understand specific packaging needs and constraints
• Convert conceptual requirements into detailed, manufacturable packaging designs
• Provide technical recommendations for material selection and design optimization
• Present packaging solutions and cost estimates to clients with technical justification

Design & Development

• Create detailed CAD drawings and technical specifications for wooden pallets, crates, and boxes
• Develop custom packaging solutions for diverse industrial applications
• Design packaging systems for export compliance (ISPM 15, fumigation, international shipping)
• Optimize designs for material efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturing feasibility
• Create assembly instructions and technical documentation for production teams

Material Selection & Cost Engineering

• Select appropriate wood materials based on load requirements, environmental conditions, and budget constraints
• Calculate material consumption, labor requirements, and production costs accurately
• Prepare detailed quotations with material breakdown and technical specifications
• Optimize material utilization to minimize waste and reduce production costs
• Evaluate supplier options and maintain material cost databases

Manufacturing Process Optimization

• Collaborate with production teams to ensure design manufacturability
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality
• Implement quality control measures and testing protocol
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical solutions
• Train production staff on new designs and specifications

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all packaging solutions meet relevant industry standards and regulations
• Maintain compliance with export packaging requirements (ISPM 15, phytosanitary certificates)
• Develop quality control procedures and inspection protocols
• Manage technical documentation and change control processes
