Packaging Design Engineer

Role Overview: As a Packaging Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing packaging solutions to support the research and development of Drone Packaging. Your role will involve creating a consistent design language/theme for all product aspects, developing practical and innovative packaging designs, and collaborating with the R&D team to redesign existing packaging and create new designs. Your aim will be to contribute to a sustainable top-class packaging design team that consistently delivers world-class, high reliability systems. Key Responsibilities: - Proficient in Rigid Packaging with a strong background in development and management. - Identify, evaluate, and implement new trends and technologies in packaging to ensure continuous improvement. - Demonstrate a strong understanding of packaging processes and equipment. - Develop, coordinate, and conduct packaging trials to validate technical packaging opportunities. - Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, procurement, quality, management, field training, and field operations. - Create specifications for product shipping boxes and transportation. - Coordinate packaging quality testing according to international shipping standards. - Define material specifications to meet cost constraints and sustainability guidelines. - Create documents, CAD files, specifications, Bill of Materials (BoM), and release using PLM software. - Possess working knowledge of CAD software and PLM software, preferably CREO and PTC Windchill. - Familiarity with packaging manufacturing techniques such as stitching, machining, and molding. - Knowledge and experience with materials like MIL grade fabrics, EPP, Plastics, and various types of foams. - Understand ergonomics, anthropometry, and packaging testing standards. - Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders locally and internationally during new product roll-outs. - Design user-friendly, aesthetically appealing, and robust packaging solutions. Qualifications Required: - Post-graduation in Packaging Science & technology from IIP/SIES/IIT or similar institutes. - Knowledge of ISTA protocols. - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills. - Self-directed, motivated, with good time management skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
