We are looking for a highly skilled Fixture Design Engineer with hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and validating fixtures for precision machining applications. The role requires an in-depth understanding of machining processes, gear cutting technologies, CAD modeling, and fixture validation techniques. The candidate will play a crucial role in supporting new product introductions, global localization projects, and productivity improvements by developing world-class fixture solutions. Responsibilities Design and develop machining fixtures for gear and shaft components covering turning, milling, hobbing, shaping, gear grinding, OD/ID grinding, and face grinding operations. Collaborate with global manufacturing teams to standardize fixture designs while adapting to local machine capabilities. Perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and GD&T analysis to ensure part and fixture compatibility. Prepare and release 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and BOMs for fixture fabrication. Conduct virtual design reviews , machine layout simulations, and provide technical support during fixture implementation. Validate fixture performance through on-machine trials and feedback from production teams. Support New Product Introductions (NPIs) and process localization projects worldwide. Coordinate with overseas plants to gather machine specifications, tooling standards, and process constraints . Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, setup time, and tooling costs. Maintain all design documentation, revision control, and data management in PLM systems. Candidate Profile Experience: 3 - 8 years in fixture design for precision machining , preferably in heavy engineering or automotive industries. Strong knowledge of gear cutting processes (hobbing, shaping, gear grinding) and general machining (turning, HMC, VMC, VTL, SPM). Expertise in hydraulic fixture design, modular fixtures, and quick-change systems (SMED) . Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Creo, NX, or SolidWorks) and familiarity with PLM tools .
