Job Description: Oracle EBS Upgrade Specialist (Functional)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oracle Functional Resource to join our team. This role focuses on upgrading Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) applications from version 12.1 to 12.2. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Oracle EBS functionalities, a proven track record of successful upgrades, and exceptional problem-solving abilities. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, driving key initiatives for business transformation and system optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the upgrade process of Oracle EBS applications from version 12.1 to 12.2, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Understand new functional features available after the upgrade in 12.2
  • Conduct detailed analysis of existing systems, identifying potential risks, and proposing solutions during the upgrade process.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to configure, test, and implement the upgraded Oracle EBS modules.
  • Provide functional expertise in Oracle EBS modules such as Finance and Supply Chain and others, ensuring compatibility in the upgraded environment.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate system functionality, data integrity, and performance post-upgrade.
  • Train and support end-users on the upgraded functionalities and processes.
  • Document the upgrade process, including configurations, customizations, and test results, for audit and future reference.
  • Stay updated on Oracle EBS best practices, patches, and features to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and align Oracle EBS functionalities to meet those requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Oracle E-Business Suite, with at least 2 years focusing on upgrades from Oracle EBS 12.1 to 12.2.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle EBS modules, functionalities, and integration points.
  • Experience in managing system configurations, customizations, and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle EBS architecture, database structures, and technical setup.
  • Proficiency in testing tools and methodologies to validate system upgrades.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Oracle certification in E-Business Suite or related areas is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of performance tuning for Oracle EBS applications.
  • Hands-on experience with data migration and validation.
