Role & responsibilities

• Assist and provide outpatient care for patients with eye-related disorders and conditions.
• Assist senior optometrist in conducting routine eye examinations, including visual field tests.
• Determine each patients visual acuity and hand-eye coordination.
• Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness, and eye diseases, such as glaucoma.
• Provide vision services such as examining, diagnosing and determining visual acuity, perception, focus, coordination, OCT Testing, FFA Testing & IOL Calculation (KERATOMETER & A-Scan), IOL Master, B-Scan (Ultrasonography) and other relevant eye imparities.
• Utilize ophthalmic equipment, such as lens meters, pupil meters, binocular slit-lamps, and biomicroscopes for examining patients eye conditions.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgeryfor example, examining a patient’s eyes the day after surgery.
• Assist and evaluate patients for the presence of other diseases and conditions, such as diabetes or hypertension, and refer patients to other healthcare providers as needed.
• Advice patients on proper eye care techniques.
• Maintain accurate medical files for all patients and record all diagnosis and treatment plans including transfers and therapeutic prescription.
