Key Responsibilities:

1. Lens Preparation

o Cut, grind, and polish lenses to meet specifications as prescribed by optometrists.

o Use various machinery, including lens edgers and grinders, to shape lenses for eyeglasses and other optical devices.

o Inspect lenses for defects and ensure they meet optical standards.

2. Frame Fitting

o Fit lenses into optical frames based on customer specifications.

o Adjust the frame to ensure proper fit and comfort for the wearer.

3. Repairs and Maintenance

o Repair and maintain optical equipment, including eyeglasses and frames.

o Replace damaged or broken lenses and frames as needed.

4. Customer Service

o Communicate with clients or optometrists to understand lens prescriptions and frame preferences.

o Provide advice on lens types and frame fitting.

5. Quality Control

o Ensure all optical products meet the quality and safety standards before delivery.

o Perform final inspections on glasses and other optical devices to verify accuracy and functionality.

6. Inventory Management

o Maintain stock of optical supplies, including frames, lenses, and tools.

o Order materials and supplies as needed.

7. Record Keeping

o Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, repairs, and customer orders.

o Update and manage inventory records.

8. Use of Technology

o Operate optical machinery and computer systems to ensure precise cutting, shaping, and fitting of lenses.

o Keep up to date with new technologies and advancements in the optical field.

· Standard working hours, with occasional overtime depending on the workload.
