Job Description

Design and develop innovative tooling and fixturing to improve fabrication of subassemblies and assemblies of railway wagons, or any other equipment in heavy engineering. Developing welding fixtures. Developing Go No-go gauges. Ensure designs are cost-effective, efficient, and meet all technical and safety requirements. Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modelling and prototyping of tooling and fixtures. Create detailed drawings and specifications for tooling and fixturing, including material specifications and manufacturing instructions. Work closely with production teams to ensure seamless integration of tooling and fixtures into existing manufacturing processes. Collaborate with engineers, product designers, and suppliers to select materials and processes that meet design, cost, and performance requirements. Provide technical support to manufacturing staff to troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues. Ensure that all tooling and fixturing solutions comply with company standards and quality assurance processes. Ensure calibration of tools and fixtures as per protocol. Conduct inspections of tools and fixtures to ensure they meet operational specifications and are free of defects. Implement corrective actions if tools or fixtures fail during testing or production runs. Updated record keeping. Continuously evaluate new technologies and methods to improve tooling design and production efficiency. 3-8 Years experience in tooling design, fixture design, and manufacturing.
