Ophthalmic Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologists during OPD consultations and procedures
• Perform preliminary eye examinations including vision testing, tonometry, and pupil dilation as advised
• Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and minor procedures
• Support pre-operative and post-operative patient care and counseling
• Assist in maintaining and handling ophthalmic instruments and equipment
• Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and infection control practices
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in HMS
• Coordinate patient movement between OPD, diagnostics, and OT
• Provide courteous and compassionate patient support

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma / Certification in Ophthalmic Assistant / Ophthalmic Technology
• 1–3 years of experience in an eye hospital or clinic preferred (freshers may apply)
• Basic knowledge of ophthalmic instruments and procedures
• Good communication skills and patient-handling abilities
• Willingness to work in shifts and a fast-paced clinical environment
