Salary

Required Qualifications:

• B.E./B.Tech in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3- 5 years of experience in Metallurgical Lab / Material Testing Lab, preferably handling metallurgical microscopes.
• In-depth knowledge of microstructure analysis, sample preparation techniques, etching methods, and material characterization.
• Strong understanding of materials properties, metallurgical defects, and failure analysis.
• Good computer skills (MS Office, data logging systems).
• Knowledge of applicable quality standards (ISO, ASTM, BIS).

1. Microscopic Analysis

• Perform microstructural analysis of metals, alloys, and other materials using metallurgical microscopes (optical, electron, and digital microscopes).

Lab Management

• Ensure the metallurgical microscope lab is properly maintained, clean, and equipment is regularly calibrated and serviced.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory chemicals, consumables, and spares.

Data Recording & Reporting

• Document all observations, test results, and analysis reports in a systematic manner.
• Prepare and submit timely reports on material characteristics, defects, and failure analysis to relevant departments.

Technical Support

• Provide technical support to production, quality, and R&D teams regarding material analysis.

5 . Compliance & Safety

• Ensure laboratory follows safety procedures and complies with applicable standards (ISO, ASTM, BIS, etc.).
• Implement proper waste disposal methods for chemicals and samples.

6. Team Management

• Supervise and train lab technicians in sample preparation, microscope operation, and analysis techniques.
• Plan work allocation, monitor performance, and ensure deadlines are met.

Continuous Improvement

• Propose improvements in sample preparation methods, analysis techniques, and lab processes to enhance lab productivity and accuracy.
