Cybersecurity Specialist

hands-on, end-to-end role

Role & responsibilities

• Define and implement the organizations cybersecurity strategy and roadmap.
• Continuously assess and improve the companys security posture across infrastructure and applications.
• Conduct

  penetration testing

  and

  vulnerability assessments

  for web, Windows, and API-based applications.
• Secure

  on-premise servers, network systems, and cloud (AWS)

  environments.
• Implement and maintain

  firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)

  , and endpoint protection tools.
• Ensure

  secure configurations

  , patch management, and access control policies are in place.
• Deploy and manage

  SIEM tools

  for real-time monitoring and threat detection.
• Investigate and respond to

  security incidents, breaches, and anomalies

  .
• Perform

  ethical hacking exercises

  to identify exploitable weaknesses.
• Simulate attack scenarios (red team/blue team style) to validate defenses
• Maintain audit-ready documentation of all security processes and incidents
• Generate periodic reports on vulnerabilities, threats, and security improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

• At least 5 years

  of professional experience in cybersecurity, penetration testing, or security operations.
• Strong understanding of

  Network and system security

  (Windows, Linux, Firewalls, VPNs, Web Applications, Mobile Applications,
• Hands-on experience with Penetration testing tools , security monitoring tools
• Knowledge of

  incident response, threat analysis, and malware detection

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
  

Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have)

• CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
• OSCP / OSCE
• AWS Certified Security Specialty
• CISSP (optional but valued for seniority)
