Oil And Gas Consultant

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Advisory

• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Oil & Gas financial operations and processes.
  
• Advise clients on the optimization of finance functions such as

  budgeting, cost tracking, CAPEX/OPEX reporting, joint venture accounting, revenue recognition, and statutory compliance

  .
• Conduct assessments of existing financial systems and suggest enhancements tailored to the Oil & Gas sector.
  

ERP/Finance Module Implementation

• Lead or support implementations of finance modules in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or others) specific to Oil & Gas.
  
• Map client requirements to ERP features and customize functionalities to align with business processes in exploration, production, refining, or distribution.
  
• Ensure accurate configuration of modules related to

  Asset Accounting, Project Systems, General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and Cost Center Accounting

  .

Data & Reporting

• Design and generate business and regulatory reports for clients using ERP data sources.
  
• Support clients with

  financial modeling, forecasting, variance analysis

  , and cost-benefit analyses relevant to Oil & Gas operations.

Risk & Compliance

• Ensure finance processes align with industry standards,

  IFRS/GAAP

  , and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Assist in internal audits and control testing, particularly for SOX compliance or similar frameworks.
  

Collaboration & Communication

• Work cross-functionally with teams in

  operations, engineering, procurement, and logistics

  to ensure seamless financial integration.
• Coordinate with internal GT stakeholders and clients to manage expectations, project timelines, and deliverables.
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
  
• MBA (Finance) or Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
  

Work Experience

• 25 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas companies or consulting firms handling Oil & Gas clients.
  
• Proven exposure to finance modules within ERP systems such as SAP (FI/CO), Oracle Financials, or similar platforms.
  
• Experience in project-based financial management in upstream, midstream, or downstream functions is highly desirable.
  

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of financial accounting and reporting principles.
  
• Familiarity with financial planning tools, project accounting, and analytics dashboards.
  
• Knowledge of cost recovery, joint venture accounting, production sharing contracts (PSCs), or revenue accounting.
  

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  
• High level of attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
