OHC - Pharmacist For Iron & Steel Industry

Role & responsibilities

• Dispensing & Medication Management

• Accurately dispense medicines as per physician prescriptions.
  
• Counsel patients on proper usage, dosage, and potential side effects of medications.
  
• Maintain patient medication records in accordance with medical confidentiality guidelines.
  

• Inventory & Stock Management

• Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
  
• Maintain cold chain and storage conditions as per drug regulations.
  
• Ensure timely procurement of medicines and avoid stock-outs or expiry losses.
  

• Emergency & First Aid Support

• Assist medical officers during workplace emergencies, injuries, and first aid procedures.
  
• Prepare and maintain emergency medicine kits for various departments and ambulances.
  

• Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with Factories Act, Drugs & Cosmetics Act, and relevant EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) regulations.
  
• Maintain accurate logs of medicine usage, controlled substances, and audits.
  
• Support internal and external audits, including those by statutory authorities.
  

• Health & Safety Programs

• Participate in workplace health campaigns (e.g., vaccinations, de-addiction drives).
  
• Support health surveillance programs like periodic medical examinations and health screenings.
  

• Coordination

• Liaise with local medical suppliers and hospitals for emergency support.
  
• Coordinate with occupational health staff, nurses, and EHS teams.
  

Preferred candidate profile:

• Education:

  Diploma / Bachelor's Degree

  in

  Pharmacy (D.Pharm / B.Pharm)

  from a recognized institution.

• License:

  Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration.

• Experience:

  35 years of relevant experience, preferably in industrial or occupational health settings.

• Industry Preference:

  Experience in heavy industries like Iron & Steel, Mining, or Manufacturing is desirable.
