**Job Description:** You will be responsible for the reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts for a specific business Segment within the Balance Sheet Reconciliation team. Your role will involve supporting the reconciliation segment leads in ensuring full compliance with the Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Substantiation Policy. **Key Responsibilities:** - Ensure that Balance Sheet accounts assigned to you are reconciled in accordance with the BSRS Policy and standard documented procedures. - Report all exceptions, aged items, reconciliation breaks, and unsubstantiated balances accurately in eRecon. - Maintain supporting documentation for performed work and noted exceptions, including actions required and ownership details. - Identify and document root causes of recurring exceptions in collaboration with the Account Owner and Exception Owner. - Obtain and report the P&L at risk in eRecon, along with any operational reserves taken. - Develop appropriate action plans to resolve exceptions and escalate when necessary according to the Balance Sheet Escalation Protocol. - Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the reconciliation function as part of supporting the implementation of a strategic ledger. - Facilitate the remediation of material reconciliation exceptions in coordination with Account Owners. - Assist reconciliation segment leads in coordinating Internal and External Audits, as well as Regulatory interfacing related to the Balance Sheet Reconciliation function. - Ensure timely and accurate attestation of all owned GL account keys in compliance with BSR&S Policy to reduce red account balances and mitigate any risk exposure. - Support the coordination of monthly Account Review Forum (ARF) with Account Owners Groups and senior controllers to address significant reconciliation and substantiation exceptions. - Partner with the Controller Transformation group to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and control. **Talent Development:** - Drive best practices in knowledge management. - Actively participate and provide inputs in team meetings. - Provide vocal leadership, encourage team members to speak up, build trust and confidence within the team, mentor junior colleagues, and be approachable to the team. **Enhancing Controls:** - Assess risks in business decisions while safeguarding the firm's reputation and assets. - Participate in global Internal Audits and KPMG audit engagements. - Maintain documentation and controls to ensure integrity of financial, regulatory, and management information. - Assist in creating an effective control environment to adhere to all internal and external policies and procedures. - Drive a zero-tolerance culture on control breaches and coordinate the remediation of high and medium-risk EUCs. **Qualifications:** - Proven experience (2-5 years) in accounting, financial reporting, or product control. - Strong analytical skills to analyze complex financial data and provide insights on US GAAP / IFRS, preferably in the banking/financial services sector. - Ability to influence peers and business partners to achieve goals. - Proficiency in financial platforms, MS Project, and MS Office Suite. - Financial management competencies. - Experience in managing in a complex and dynamic environment. - Preferred skills in team building, mentoring, guiding staff through transformation initiatives, self-motivation, decision-making, motivating project teams, fostering team development in distributed environments, risk management, and enhancing controls in financial accounting processes. - Ability to work across functional areas. **Education:** - Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.,
