Occupational Health Nurse

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, observe, and document patient health conditions and needs.
  
• Develop and implement patient care plans based on clinical assessments and physician directives.
  
• Administer medications, IV therapies, injections, and other treatments safely.
  
• Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions.
  
• Assist with diagnostic tests, medical procedures, and wound care.
  
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation.
  
• Educate patients and families on health management, care procedures, and post-treatment instructions.
  
• Uphold infection control protocols and safety standards.
  
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate holistic patient care.
  
• Provide emotional support and compassionate communication to patients and families.
  
• Ensure equipment and medical supplies are used and maintained properly.
  

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), depending on role requirements.
  
• Nursing degree (BSN/ADN or equivalent).
  
• CPR/BLS certification; ACLS preferred for some units.
  
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care abilities.
