Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

Health Safety Policies and Procedures:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Review and update emergency plans, safety protocols, and first aid procedures.
  • Provide guidance on the safe use of equipment and machinery.

Risk Assessment and Management:

  • Conduct regular workplace risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate or eliminate risks and ensure the safety of all employees.

Training and Awareness:

  • Organize and lead health and safety training for employees, including induction training and refresher courses.
  • Raise awareness of health and safety practices across the organization and promote a safety-first culture.

Incident Reporting and Investigation:

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine causes and prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incidents and accidents.

Safety Inspections and Audits:

  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to monitor safety standards.
  • Recommend corrective actions and improvements based on findings from inspections.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Prepare emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire drills, and medical emergencies.
  • Lead emergency drills and ensure all employees are familiar with emergency protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field (preferred).
  • Professional certification, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), is a plus.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of workplace safety regulations, risk management, and OSHA standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees, management, and regulatory agencies.
