Nursing Tutor/Clinical Instructor

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: M.Sc. Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with one year teaching experience and the requirement as per INC.

OVERVIEW: The Clinical Instructor/ Tutor assist Principal in planning, implementing and evaluating all educational programs in the Institute of Nursing.

1. ACADEMIC:

1. Coordinate with Principal in planning implementation and evaluation of educational programs.

2. Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of staff and student welfare programs.

3. Functions as the class coordinator for a particular group of students during the academic year.

4. Participates in the staff development programs.

5. Participates in teaching in various educational programs.

6. Conducts evaluation of student progress as per the norms of statutory body.

7. Is available for consultation with Vice- Principal for day-to-day academic activities.

8. Maintain all students’ records including cumulative record, practical record, health record etc.

9. Develops and executes a teaching curriculum for nursing students in the clinical setting.

10. Accompanies students to clinical settings.

11. Teach clinical skills to the students so they are prepared to work with patients in clinical settings.

12. Lectures students.

13. Conducts and supervises skill lab demonstration.

14. Issues and corrects assignments.

15. Directs seminars and demonstrations.

16. Supervises students in the clinical setting.

17. Maintains clinical attendance of the students.

18. Keeps track on students learning and achievement of clinical objectives.

19. Assesses competency of students at the end of clinical posting.

20. Maintain records:

• Admission record of the students,
• Cumulative records,
• Internal assessment record.
• Result,
• Master & Clinical rotation plan, time table and monthly rotation plan,
• Leave records.

2. SUPERVISORY:

Shares responsibility with Principal in supervision of students

i) Prepares the academic calendar under the guidance of the principal.

ii) Participates in orientation programs for new students.

iii) Provides academic guidance o the students.

iv) Writes students performance report as assigned by Principal and reviews evaluation report of the assigned students.

v) Coordinates with Medical Officer and hospital staff in the preparation of clinical rotation plans and clinical area postings for the students.

vi) Facilitates functioning of Institute of Nursing’s Library in coordinate with Senior Librarian.

vii) Sanctioning of Leave with Principal permission.

3. HUMAN RELATION:

i) Shares responsibility with Principal and Vice Principal in identifying conflicts among student and staff members and initiates solution, consult and inform when necessary.

ii) Shares responsibility with Principal and Vice- Principal in informing parents about students’ progress, problems etc.

iii) Facilitates guidance and counseling to students’ as per need.

Note: Preference will be given to candidates who are domiciled in the state of Meghalaya.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
