Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff during shifts in the emergency department.
Ensure timely triage, assessment, and management of all emergency cases following protocols.
Lead the team in handling trauma, cardiac arrest, stroke, poisoning, and other critical cases.
Monitor nursing care delivery, ensuring adherence to clinical standards, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
Guide and support staff in managing complex clinical situations and decision-making.
Act as the communication bridge between doctors, nursing staff, patients, and families.
Maintain accurate shift reports, incident records, and documentation as per hospital policy.
Mentor, train, and evaluate emergency nursing staff and assist in onboarding new team members.
Ensure adequate staffing, equipment readiness, and resource availability for all shifts.
Escalate operational issues or critical events to the Nursing Manager or hospital leadership when required.
Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives, drills, and emergency preparedness programs.
