Comprehensive Patient Care (ICU Cath Lab):

• Provide expert, evidence-based

  patient care

  to critically ill individuals in the

  ICU

  , including those with complex medical conditions, multi-system organ failure, and post-surgical recovery needs.
• Deliver specialized pre-, intra-, and post-procedure

  patient care

  in the

  Cath Lab

  for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures (e.g., angiograms, angioplasties, stenting, pacemaker insertions).
• Conduct thorough and ongoing assessments of patient conditions in both settings, interpreting vital signs, lab results, and diagnostic findings to formulate and update individualized

  nursing

  care plans.

Medication Management Advanced Monitoring:

• Administer all medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products accurately and safely in both

  ICU

  and

  Cath Lab

  settings, ensuring proper dosage, route, and timing, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Independently operate and troubleshoot a wide range of advanced

  ICU

  equipment (e.g., mechanical ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, dialysis machines) and

  Cath Lab

  -specific equipment (e.g., hemodynamic monitoring systems, imaging equipment, defibrillators).
• Perform specialized

  nursing

  procedures relevant to both

  ICU

  (e.g., endotracheal suctioning, central line care) and

  Cath Lab

  (e.g., sheath removal, hemostasis, monitoring for complications post-procedure).

Collaboration Communication:

• Maintain excellent

  communication skills

  with patients and their families in both

  ICU

  and

  Cath Lab

  contexts, providing clear explanations of care, offering emotional support, and facilitating shared decision-making.
• Collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, including intensivists, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, residents, respiratory therapists, and technicians, to ensure holistic and coordinated

  patient care

  .
• Provide detailed and accurate documentation of all patient assessments, interventions, medications, and responses in the electronic health record for both

  ICU

  and

  Cath Lab

  patients.
• Actively participate in daily ward rounds, team meetings, and interdepartmental discussions.

Safety Quality Assurance:

• Ensure strict adherence to all

  ICU

  and

  Cath Lab

  protocols,

  hospital

  policies, infection control practices, and patient safety guidelines, including radiation safety in the

  Cath Lab

  .
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to patient safety, including medication errors, falls, healthcare-associated infections, and procedural complications.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within both the

  ICU

  and

  Cath Lab

  to enhance

  patient care

  standards and outcomes.
• Maintain professional competence through continuous learning and development in critical care and interventional cardiology

  nursing

  .
