Job Title: NPI Engineer Electronics Manufacturing

NPI Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• New Product Introduction (NPI) Management:

• Lead and coordinate the introduction of new electronic assemblies and products into manufacturing.
• Act as a Single Point of Contact with customer during the NPI Execution Phase
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, Gerber files, and assembly data packages.
• Ensure product manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT) through early-stage reviews with design and process teams.

• Process Development & Validation:

• Define and document production processes, work instructions, and process flow for new products.
• Develop and validate assembly, testing, and inspection processes (SMT, through-hole, box build, etc.).
• Support tooling, stencil, and fixture design for efficient manufacturing.

• Production Readiness & Launch:

• Prepare process documentation, process parameters, and assembly instructions for pilot and full-scale builds.
• Support first article builds, analyze defects, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure readiness for ramp-up.

• BOM & Documentation Management:

• Validate and format Bill of Materials (BOMs) and ensure alignment with ERP/MRP systems.
• Ensure all engineering change orders (ECOs) are implemented accurately and timely.

• Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to improve product manufacturability and reduce costs.
• Conduct root cause analysis for yield or quality issues during early builds.
• Participate in lean manufacturing and process optimization initiatives.

• Cross-functional Coordination:

• Work closely with design engineers, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless product transition.
• Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to management and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in

  Electronics Engineering

  ,

  Manufacturing Engineering

  , or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in

  electronics manufacturing

  ,

  PCBA assembly

  , or

  NPI engineering

  .
• Strong knowledge of:

• SMT & through-hole assembly processes

• Electronic component identification and BOM structures

• Process documentation and PFMEA

• DFM/DFT principles

• IPC-A-610 standards

• Proficiency with

  Microsoft Excel

  ,

  ERP/MRP systems

  , and

  PLM tools

  .
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with

  Gerber viewers, CAD data

  , or

  CAM tools

  is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an

  EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services)

  environment.
• Familiarity with

  ISO 9001

  quality systems.
• Basic knowledge of

  Lean Manufacturing

  Six Sigma

  methodologies.
• Understanding of
