NPD/Perception Tech Lead-Mobile Robotics

As a Perception Technical Lead, you will play a crucial role in advancing the capabilities of autonomous mobile robot systems by leveraging your expertise in computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning. Your responsibilities will include: - Defining and driving the technical vision and strategy for mobile robot perception systems. - Staying updated on the latest advancements in computer vision, sensor technologies, and machine learning to guide the team in adopting cutting-edge solutions. - Designing and developing perception algorithms for mobile robots, such as object detection, localization, mapping, and sensor fusion. - Developing software for real-time processing of sensor data from cameras, LIDAR, and other sensors. - Collaborating with software and hardware teams to integrate perception algorithms into the overall robotic system. - Conducting experiments to assess and enhance the performance of perception systems. - Keeping abreast of the latest research in perception and robotics to apply new techniques for system improvement. Qualifications required for this role ideally include: - Bachelor's or Master's degree/PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience in perception for robotics or a related field. - Exposure to software development of autonomous mobile robots with a background in manufacturing and automation domain. In terms of technical competencies, you should have: - Familiarity with control systems, sensors, and actuators. - Experience in software development for robotic systems, covering perception, navigation, and control. - Strong programming skills in Python, C++, and ROS2. - Knowledge of computer vision algorithms, machine learning techniques, and sensor fusion. - Experience in real-time processing of sensor data. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Preferred qualifications include: - Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence. - Knowledge of industrial automation and manufacturing processes. - Familiarity with safety regulations and standards related to robotics.
