As a News Editor at our client's leading news startup, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality news content to our audience. This position requires a seasoned professional with a keen editorial eye, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering accurate and impactful news stories. You will be responsible for overseeing the editorial process from story conception to publication, managing and leading a team of journalists, ensuring that the news content meets the highest standards of accuracy and integrity, collaborating with reporters and writers to develop compelling stories, making editorial decisions on content selection and presentation, and staying informed about current events and industry trends. The ideal candidate for this role will have proven experience in news editing with a strong portfolio of published work, excellent editorial judgment and decision-making skills, familiarity with digital media platforms and evolving trends in the news industry, strong organizational and project management skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. It would be beneficial to have experience with multimedia storytelling and knowledge of visual storytelling techniques, knowledge of audience engagement strategies and metrics, familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing tools, and an understanding of SEO best practices for news content. To qualify for this position, you should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field. This is a full-time position with on-site work arrangements.
