Role & responsibilities

Position:

Must Have Skills:

5+ years of experience in Network & Security.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

CCNA or equivalent certification (preferred).

Firewall certifications Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco (Fortinet preferred).

Cloud networking exposure (AWS, Azure, GCP understanding is enough).

ITSM / Service ticketing platform experience.

Good to Have:

Desktop / Systems certification.

Data Center / NOC experience.

Familiarity with Linux & Windows servers.

Technical Skills:

TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, MAN.

Routing & Switching: VLANs, 802.1q, VTP, Spanning-Tree, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.

Firewalls: Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Check Point.

Threat prevention: IDS/IPS, Anti-Virus, Anti-Bot, Anti-Malware, Web Proxy.

VPNs: Site-to-Site, IPSEC, SSL VPN (Global Protect, Cisco AnyConnect, Check Point).

Endpoint Protection: Carbon Black, McAfee, Symantec, Check Point.

Applications: Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, MS-SQL, SSH, FTP, Telnet, Radius.

VOIP: SIP, UCS.

Cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP.

Documentation tools: Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Monitoring tools: SolarWinds, ManageEngine.

General Skills:

Strong troubleshooting & problem-solving.

Excellent communication (oral & written).

Strong documentation (diagrams, RCA, reports).

Ability to multitask & manage multiple client queries.

Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide L2–L3 support for network/security issues.

Configure, migrate & troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls.

Diagnose & repair network/security devices (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Load Balancers, Endpoint/Cloud Security).

Cyber incident response: forensics, intrusion detection, threat containment.

Monitor security platforms (Spam filters, IDS, Antivirus, vulnerability scanners).

Update hardware/software versions as per vendor.

Produce network diagrams, RCA reports, and documentation.

Support L1 teams, assist with escalations, and maintain knowledge base.

Work in shift-based schedule with rotational on-call.
