Job Description

As a Senior Network Security Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to review and approve firewall requests in alignment with the risk appetite of the organization. You will also be tasked with reviewing and analyzing firewall rules to ensure their effectiveness and adherence to security best practices. It will be crucial for you to ensure that all firewall rules are recertified by the designated owners within the specified timeframe. In cases where no owner is identified, you will need to locate an appropriate owner and update the necessary information accordingly. A key aspect of your role will involve performing thorough reviews of firewall rulesets and validating the rule compliance reports generated from automated firewall review solutions. You will then be required to share these reports with the relevant stakeholders. Additionally, you will manage ACL rulesets by adding, updating, removing, and optimizing rules to eliminate defunct or duplicate rules. Documentation will play a vital part in your daily tasks, as you will be expected to clearly document all changes made to firewall rules. This includes specifying the reason for the change, details of the modification, the requester of the change, and the date and time when the change was implemented. It will also be essential for you to periodically review existing firewall rules to ensure their continued relevance and necessity, removing any outdated or redundant rules as needed. Furthermore, you will need to regularly assess the effectiveness of rules and adjust them based on any identified issues. Your experience in Palo Alto, F5, Zscaler, Cisco ISE, Azure, and DDoS, along with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, will be valuable in fulfilling the requirements of this role. Being open to working in 24x7 rotational shifts and possessing excellent communication skills will be essential for success in this position.,
