Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for: - Identifying actionable incidents using a monitoring system, applying strong analytical problem-solving skills to mitigate network events/incidents, and conducting routine root cause analysis (RCA). You will coordinate with support teams and vendors. - Participating in major events/incidents calls, utilizing technical and analytical skills to resolve network issues impacting Oracle customers/services. You will coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and provide RCA. - Handling fault identification and escalation on OCIs systems and networks, liaising with 3rd party suppliers, and managing escalations through to resolution. - Developing knowledge and skills in network and system administration, especially concerning OCIs architecture and platforms. - Leveraging automation to execute work and creating scripts for routine tasks. - Implementing network changes following the defined Oracle change management process. - Maintaining records of equipment failures and collaborating with engineers and suppliers as necessary. - Contributing to team documentation such as runbooks, operations guides, and technical documentation. You will also assist in onboarding new team members. - Assisting in the implementation of short, medium, and long-term plans to achieve project objectives. You will regularly interact with senior management or network leadership to ensure team objectives are met. You will have the opportunity to work with a world-class team located across the globe - the OCI Global Network Operations team, supporting the network infrastructure environment worldwide. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 3 to 5+ years of network-related experience. - Experience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environment. - Exposure to commodity Ethernet hardware (Broadcom/Mellanox), protocol experience with BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS. - Experience with networking protocols like TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and SSL. - Familiarity with networking technologies, specifically Juniper, Cisco, Arista, and switches. - Strong analytical skills and the ability to collate and interpret data from various sources. - Capability to diagnose network alerts to assess and prioritize faults and respond or escalate accordingly. - Excellent time management, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. - Comfortable dealing with a wide range of issues in a fast-paced environment. - Cisco and Juniper certifications are desired.
