Network Engineer / Network Implementation

Role & responsibilities:

Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including:

Routers

Switches (Layer 2/3)

Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, etc.)

Manage and monitor LAN/WAN, VPN, and network segmentation for optimal performance and security.

Implement network security measures, including access control policies, VLANs, ACLs, and firewall rules.

Perform regular network health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

Collaborate with security teams to support intrusion prevention/detection systems (IPS/IDS).

Respond to and resolve network incidents and service requests in a timely manner.

Create and maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness for network infrastructure.

Support network hardware/software upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.

Work closely with other IT team members and vendors for integration projects and escalations.

Conduct periodic network audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience (4+ years) as a Network Engineer/Administrator or similar role.

Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, NAT, ACLs, and VLANs.

Hands-on experience with:

Cisco / Juniper / HP / Aruba switching & routing hardware

Firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Sophos)

Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, PRTG, Nagios).

Familiarity with 802.1x, RADIUS, IPSec / SSL VPN, and MPLS.

Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues across multi-vendor environments.

Understanding of network security best practices and regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO, NIST, PCI-DSS).

Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Industry certifications such as:

CCNA / CCNP (Cisco)

PCNSE (Palo Alto)

Fortinet NSE certifications

CompTIA Network+ / Security+

Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure VNets) is a plus.

Scripting or automation skills (Python, Ansible) for network configuration and management.
