JD for Network Operations Engineer (L3)
Job Responsibilities This role is in regional network operations team and would manage APAC Network Operations for the largest bank.
You would perform a key role in this team as an SME, to make sure the Banks regional Network is stable and reliable. The candidate should be able to handle priority incidents independently and have problem solving mind set.
Actively involved in gathering information from existing teams related to Network, Processes, tools etc. able to transfer knowledge to L2/L1 teams. In this role, you will be heavily involved in major Incident resolution and Change implementation.
Able to address key technical concerns related to network operations for enterprise and data center environment and diligently working with planning team for solution. Review the BAU changes and diligently working with planning team to understand upcoming major projects and changes to transfer knowledge to Network Operation team.
In this role you will be actively working with external vendors (ISPs, System integrators and Principal vendors eg: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo alto etc.) when needed.
Responsible for reviewing and implementing VA patching as per bank operations guideline. Network Devices OS maintenance and support Major release and patches.
Able to perform the role as SME and able to act role as Shift lead. Able to present the change to impacted system owners and CAT meeting.
Able to work independently and in collaboration with various stakeholders as part of an APAC team. Must have a curious mindset and are interested to learn and adapting with the everchanging. technologies and requirements in the financial industry.
Active involvement in problem management, RCA documentation and improvement plans related to major incidents.
Able to support DR drills from Network Operations side. Work with respective countries team members in case required local support to resolve incidents and perform changes. Prepare and present technical documentation.
Ensure that the technical settings comply with company policy and regulatory requirements and work with stakeholders to align infrastructure direction.
Job Requirements
Min. 10 years of working experience in network security operations, implementation and managing large network security platform. Min. 7 years of working experience as implementation engineer in large scale enterprise and Experience in ITSM processes (Incident, change and Problem management).
Open to work in 24*7 rotational shift and rotational On-call model if required. Understanding of SLAs, RTO and RPO for critical environments. And able to follow banks guidelines. Experience in network monitoring tools E.g.: SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios etc. Experience in ITSM tool (Service Now).
Industrial professional certification such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE and NSE-7 is preferred. SME for technologies e.g., Routing, Switching, Data center technologies, Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco WLAN, Firewalls and Load balancers. In-depth technical experience and proficiency in deploying network system(s) implementation for large enterprises, data center routing switching environments and network micro-segmentation.
Hands-on experience in implementation and setup of high-availability, multi-layer datacenter networks. Strong knowledge of SASE solutions (Zscaler and Prisma Access). Must have strong knowledge of Cisco SD-WAN operations and implementation experience. Must have sound knowledge and implementation experience of Cisco Router and Switches (ASR, ISR, Nexus, Catalyst).
In-depth hands-on experience of advanced IP routing and switching technologies, particularly BGP, EIGRP, SDWAN, OSPF, PBR, QOS, ECMP, VRRP, VPC and VXLAN. Proficient with Cisco Systems, Palo Alto, F5, Checkpoint, Fortinet or equivalent Understanding of regulatory requirements from regulators such as MAS, RBI etc. Prior working experience as an IT professional in banking or financial institution is an advantage
