Network Engineer L3

Role: Network Engineer L3 (Cisco Switches & Wireless)

6+ years in Cisco switches and wireless (L3 support) with proactive in identifying, investigating, and resolving technical incidents and problems and restoring service to clients by managing incidents to resolution.

Required Skills

• Minimum years of work experience preferred: 6+ years
• Other work requirements: Might have to work in shifts ( Morning / General / Second Shift ) Needs to attend calls in US morning
• Licenses and certifications: Professional Certification - CCNA is a must, CCNP (Routing & Switching) is preferred
• Co-ordination and Interaction with business users via different modes of communication.
• In depth knowledge and hands on experience on Cisco Switches and Wireless, their administration/configuration & troubleshooting
• Communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Cabling standards
• Vmware & Windows

Cisco Switches

L3 network engineer should be Subject Matter Expert (SME) Switches & Wireless

Administration of Cisco LAN and Wireless technologies

Ability to understand LAN, Wireless, TCP/IP & IP Addressing terminology and correlate with production environment

Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems related to site LAN and Wireless.

Analyze business requirements to develop LAN & Wireless solutions and perform network modeling, analysis and planning.

Monitor and analyze network performance and data input/output reports to detect problems

Prepare detailed network specifications, including diagrams, equipment configurations with defined LAN & Wireless standards

Implement network Switches, Wireless controller and Access point solutions as required

Implementation of HSRP, EtherChannel, VLAN and VTP

Implementation of Trunking, Spanning tree and Access lists

Implementation of SSH, SNMP, DHCP, QoS technologies

Deliver the projects assigned to him/her

Administration of Cisco Switches ( 35XX , 93XX , 94XX , 95XX series), Wireless Controllers and Access Points

Administration of Cisco Prime and Cisco ISE as AAA

Administration of Cisco Tools like DNA Center and Cisco Service Platform Collector

Coordinate with Cisco on TAC cases for resolution of the issue

Attend scheduled calls in US morning time

Support pre planned network implementations in different timezones

Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems logically

Ability to troubleshoot and identify root cause

Cisco Wireless - Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Hands on experience on Cisco Wireless Controllers and Access points

WLC 3504/5508/5520/8540/9800

AP 28XX/37XX/38XX/91XX

Hands on experience on Wireless Implementations & Troubleshooting

In depth knowledge of troubleshooting wireless issues

Hands on experience on tools like Cisco Prime, DNA Center and Cisco ISE as AAA

Understanding of network sniffers, WireShark captures

Basic understanding of Routing Protocols

Basic understanding of Network Hardening standards

Design and implementation of LAN and Wireless network

Good Communication skills and ability to coordinate with global stakeholders

Vendor coordination & management

Education

• Any Graduate (Applicable for GIT)
• CCNA (Must to have )
