Job Title: L3 Network Engineer Responsibilities: Network Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain complex network architectures, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Evaluate and recommend network technologies to meet organizational requirements. Advanced Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and issue resolution for network-related problems. Analyze and resolve complex network incidents, outages, or performance issues. Security Implementation: Implement and maintain robust security measures for network infrastructure. Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. Network Optimization: Continuously optimize network performance, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency. Conduct performance monitoring and analysis to identify and address bottlenecks. Capacity Planning: Perform capacity planning for network resources to support business growth. Propose and implement scaling strategies based on future requirements. Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with vendors to evaluate new products, troubleshoot issues, and stay informed about product roadmaps. Manage relationships with technology partners and vendors. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to the team. Change Management: Implement network changes following established change management processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute changes with minimal impact. Training and Knowledge Sharing: Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to junior team members. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies. On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to address critical network issues outside regular business hours. Respond promptly to incidents and provide resolutions in a timely manner. Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: Proven experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on advanced troubleshooting and architecture. Experience working in a Level 3 (L3) support role. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent. Certifications in network security (e.g., CISSP) are a plus. Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, etc.). Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices. Experience with network virtualization technologies (e.g., SD-WAN, SDN). Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information effectively. Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex network issues. Ability to work independently and make critical decisions. Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, providing guidance and support to junior team members. Adaptability: Willingness to stay current with emerging technologies and adapt to changes in the networking landscape.
