About The Role
As a Network Administrator at Stolt-Nielsen Limited, your primary responsibility is to ensure the seamless, efficient, and secure operation of the company's IT network infrastructure. Your daily tasks will include monitoring network traffic, proactively identifying potential issues, and addressing them before they impact performance. When challenges arise, you will troubleshoot and resolve network problems promptly to maintain uninterrupted operations across global locations.Your role extends beyond troubleshooting, involving the implementation of network updates, configurations, and security enhancements to optimize performance. You will manage comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams and configuration guides, to support a well-organized and scalable infrastructure that aligns with the company's strategic objectives.A critical aspect of your responsibilities involves overseeing Operational Technology (OT) firewalls to strengthen internal systems against cybersecurity threats. Collaborating closely with the business units, the Stolt SECOPS team, and external vendors, you will manage operational tasks and generate insightful reports on network performance and security posture.You will also oversee the SD-WAN network, working with vendors to identify anomalies and areas for improvement. Addressing these issues through active discussions with internal teams and external partners, you will ensure the stability and reliability of the network infrastructure.This role is supervised by the Senior Network Administrator, and it requires proactive, dynamic behavior, with a strong sense of ownership for all assigned tasks. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to maintaining a resilient, secure, and efficient IT environment that supports the company's global operations.Effective management of the network is vital; poor oversight could lead to operational downtime, financial loss, safety risks, and security vulnerabilities. Therefore, this position demands a detail-oriented professional committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a college diploma or university degree in computer science or a related field, complemented by at least three years of relevant work experience. Certifications such as ITIL, CCNA, CCNP, NSE 4 or NSE 5, or Palo Alto firewall management are highly desirable and demonstrate a strong foundation in network management and security.Experience working as a Cisco Network administrator or in similar roles within network administration, IT infrastructure, or networking is essential. Hands-on experience with switches, routers, and firewalls is required, along with a solid understanding of LAN/WAN architectures, MPLS, VPNs, and best practices in network security.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, report, and manage day-to-day operations of the IT, OT, and SD-WAN networks to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues swiftly to minimize downtime and maintain high availability.
- Configure, update, and maintain network equipment and software, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation such as diagrams, configuration guides, and operational procedures.
- Manage Operational Technology (OT) firewalls, ensuring robust security measures are in place against cyber threats.
- Collaborate closely with the SECOPS team, regional IT support, vendors, and business units to coordinate network activities and improvements.
- Identify and address network anomalies within the SD-WAN environment, working with vendors to implement enhancements.
- Contribute to the development of security policies and procedures to safeguard internal systems and data.
- Participate in regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
