Job Summary:

Advantal Technologies is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Network Administrator to assist in the day-to-day management and support of our network infrastructure. This entry-level position is ideal for someone starting their career in IT networking and looking to grow their skills in a dynamic environment. You will support senior staff in maintaining the performance, security, and reliability of our local and wide area networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
• Monitor network performance and help identify and troubleshoot basic connectivity issues.
• Provide first-level support for network-related user issues, including Wi-Fi, VPN, and access control.
• Support the management of network tools and services such as DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
• Help maintain network documentation, including diagrams, asset lists, and change logs.
• Perform routine network maintenance and system updates under guidance.
• Participate in system backups, patching, and disaster recovery testing.
• Collaborate with IT team members to implement new technologies and improve network efficiency.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in network administration, IT support, or a related technical role (internships count).

Technical Skills:

• Basic knowledge of networking concepts (IP addressing, subnetting, routing, switching).
• Familiarity with network equipment (e.g., routers, switches, access points).
• Understanding of Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Exposure to network monitoring and ticketing systems is a plus.
• Coursework or certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA (in progress or completed) is a strong advantage.

Soft Skills:

• Strong desire to learn and develop professionally.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently or with supervision.
• Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.

Working Conditions:

• May require lifting and moving hardware (switches, routers, etc.).
• Willingness to work flexible hours if needed (e.g., for maintenance windows).
