Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Engineer DBA to join our team. This role involves managing and optimizing database performance, providing L1 support, and ensuring the integrity and security of our databases. The ideal candidate should be adaptable, possess strong analytical skills, and be comfortable working in shifts, including weekends if required. Shift Work: Willingness to work in general and evening shifts as required. Database Monitoring: Continuously monitor and optimize database performance, focusing on query throughput and storage resources. L1 Support: Provide Level 1 support during on-call shifts, troubleshooting and resolving database connectivity issues, and responding promptly to automated alerts. Collaboration: Work closely with Lead DBAs and management to implement change requests and database enhancements. Ticket Management: Create and manage tickets in JIRA for all DBA activities and tasks. Database Software Knowledge: Demonstrate an understanding of all components of database software and maintain a working knowledge of all database objects. Alerts Setup: Configure alerts and thresholds for effective database monitoring. User Management: Define roles for user access management and implement other security measures. Documentation: Create and maintain database documentation and reports. SQL Proficiency: Write and execute SQL queries (DDL/DML) in accordance with business requirements. Script Review: Review database scripts to ensure quality and efficiency. Sprint Deployments: Execute DML/DDL/DCL scripts during regular Sprint deployments. Patching and Upgrades: Participate in the patching, migration and upgrading of databases along with Senior DBAs/lead. Automate repetitive tasks using scripts (e.g., Python, Shell). Document database configurations, procedures, and standards. Requirements Mandatory Skills : Any RDBMS(Mysql/MS SQL), Database Administration, AWS RDS Education and Experience Requirements: Education: Any graduate with a focus on Computer Science or a related field preferred. Database Experience: Proficient in Any database technology (Mysql/MS SQL/MongoDB) & AWS RDS Operating Systems: Knowledge of Linux and Python is essential. Tools Familiarity: Experience with JIRA; familiarity with tools such as AWS RDS, Workbench, Datadog, Percona or other relevant monitoring tools. SQL Knowledge: Strong understanding of SQL queries and database management.
