MySQL Database Administrator

You are a highly skilled and experienced MySQL Database Administrator, responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, security, and availability of MySQL database systems. You will work in a dynamic technology team, requiring a proactive approach, strong database administration understanding, problem-solving skills, and the capability to work both independently and collaboratively. Your role encompasses all aspects of database management, from design and implementation to maintenance and optimization. Your responsibilities include installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining multiple MySQL database environments (production, staging, development). You will monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize query performance, storage, and system efficiency. Developing robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity is also crucial. You will implement and maintain security measures, manage database schema changes, troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly, and ensure replication and high availability solutions for system uptime. Automation of routine database administration tasks and collaboration with development teams and stakeholders are key aspects of your role. You will also plan and execute database upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime while staying updated on the latest MySQL features, best practices, and security updates. To qualify for this role, you need a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5-6 years of hands-on experience as a MySQL Database Administrator. You should have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in managing MySQL databases in Cloud (AWS - RDS/Aurora) & on-premise environments. Strong understanding of MySQL architecture, internals, storage engines (e.g., InnoDB, MyISAM), performance tuning, optimization techniques, backup and recovery procedures, database security principles, SQL queries, stored procedures, replication technologies, high availability solutions, Linux/Unix operating systems, and scripting languages like Bash or Python is required. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are necessary, along with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.,
