Music Programmer

About the Role

We are seeking an audience obsessed Music Programmer for our Live Experiences team. This role is at the heart of our creative offering - curating programs, artists, and playlists that shape immersive, world-class live music experiences, leveraging creative expertise and data insights. The Music Programmer will help evolve Saregama’s iconic IPs into new, immersive entertainment formats that engage audiences and deliver world class experiences. This role bridges musical expertise with cultural awareness and data-driven insights contributing directly to the vertical’s growth to further strengthen Saregama’s market position as a leading force in music, films, and live entertainment.

Responsibilities

• Curate live music programs that take a market leading position with target audiences for premium live experiences, and maintain long term creative and commercial viability

• Procure sheet music and arrangements through skilled music arrangers

• Source, audition and manage artist line-ups; negotiate fees, oversee rehearsals and maintain performance standards over time based on audience feedback

• Liaise with the legal team and support contracting operations for artist agreements and renewals with a recurring roster of performers

• Identify and track music and culture trends, emerging talent, genres and opportunities in the music landscape that can be brought to live experiences

• Use data driven insights to lead cohesive curation and adapt programs across culturally diverse cities, ensuring relevance across markets (opportunity to travel)

• Collaborate cross-functionally with business, marketing and data team to ensure our music programs are commercially and strategically viable with wider business of Saregama

Qualifications

• 6 - 10 years of experience in music industry with at least 2 years in programming or curation within a data driven environment

• Background in live events, ticketed experiences or streaming industry is preferred

• Familiarity with Indian classical and folk music; arranging skills are a plus

• Deep knowledge of music and cultural trends, with an appreciation for audience demand and data-led programming

• Proactive and comfortable working with multiple priorities simultaneously in a structured environment

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work cross functionally
