Job Title: MS SQL Database Architect (with PostgreSQL Migration Experience) Location: Chennai (WFO) Experience: 10+ Years Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced MS SQL Database Architect with proven expertise in designing and managing SQL Server environments and leading end-to-end migration efforts to PostgreSQL . This role requires a strong background in T-SQL , database performance optimization , and data architecture , along with hands-on experience in schema conversion , data transformation , and PostgreSQL implementation in enterprise settings. Key Responsibilities: Architect and manage SQL Server database systems , ensuring performance, availability, and scalability. Lead migration projects from MS SQL Server to PostgreSQL, including schema redesign , data conversion , and logic refactoring . Analyze and rewrite stored procedures, triggers, and functions from T-SQL to PL/pgSQL. Optimize performance in both SQL Server and PostgreSQL through indexing strategies, query tuning, and resource planning. Collaborate with development and DevOps teams for seamless integration of data platforms with applications. Design and implement disaster recovery , replication , and high availability solutions. Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are upheld across both platforms. Use tools such as Ora2Pg , pgAdmin , AWS DMS , Azure Database Migration Service , or custom ETL frameworks for the migration process.
