MRD Technician

As a Medical Records Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining patient records and ensuring they comply with healthcare standards. Working in healthcare facilities under the direction of a medical administrator, your primary duties will include creating, collecting, and maintaining patient records in electronic databases. It will be crucial for you to verify the accuracy of patient records, resolve any discrepancies, and follow protocols to keep patient information secure and confidential. Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and healthcare system standards will be a key aspect of your role, along with communicating effectively with healthcare professionals to obtain information or clarify diagnoses. You will also be tasked with preparing statistical reports by summarizing census and healthcare reports, maintaining disease registries and clinical databases, transferring information from doctor's notes into a patient's medical record, and updating patient records for insurance companies and doctors.
