Job Description

The Senior Resident will have direct responsibility for supervising patient care within their unit, along with the assistance of Junior Residents, particularly in emergency cases. As a "Senior Resident - CCU" (Cardiac Care Unit), you will be a medical doctor with specialized training in critical care medicine. Your primary role will involve providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the CCU. This includes tasks such as monitoring vital signs, administering medications, conducting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes. You will serve as a key decision-maker in managing complex cardiac cases under the guidance of attending physicians. Key Responsibilities: Patient Assessment and Monitoring: - Continuously monitoring vital signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, and rhythm. - Conducting thorough physical examinations to assess patient condition. - Interpreting diagnostic tests like EKGs, chest X-rays, and blood work. Treatment Planning and Implementation: - Developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans for critically ill cardiac patients. - Prescribing medications and adjusting dosages based on patient response. - Managing invasive therapies like mechanical ventilation or intra-aortic balloon pump counterpulsation (IABP). - Managing fluid and electrolyte balance. Procedures and Interventions: - Performing specific cardiac procedures like central venous catheter placement or temporary pacemaker insertion. - Initiating emergency resuscitation measures in the event of cardiac arrest. Communication and Collaboration: - Providing regular updates to attending physicians regarding patient status and critical changes. - Collaborating with nurses, other healthcare professionals, and specialists to coordinate patient care. - Offering patient and family education on their condition and treatment plan. Required Qualifications: - Completion of a medical degree and internship. - Completion of a residency program in internal medicine or critical care medicine. - Experience in managing critically ill cardiac patients. - Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and ability to work effectively under pressure. This is a full-time position with health insurance benefits. The schedule involves rotational shifts with a shift allowance. The work location is in person.,
