Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct
Pre-Underwriting reviews
to ensure loan applications meet program eligibility and compliance standards.
Perform
Pre-Purchase quality checks
to validate documentation, creditworthiness, and adherence to investor/agency guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, etc.).
Evaluate, analyze, and complete
Underwriting of residential mortgage loans
while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and risk assessment.
Review
Post-Closing documents
to confirm proper execution, regulatory compliance, and investor requirements before loan purchase.
Verify and manage
loan forms, disclosures, and supporting documentation
for completeness and accuracy.
Collaborate with processors, loan officers, and closing teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth loan lifecycle.
Stay updated on
US mortgage guidelines, compliance requirements, and industry regulations
.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

2 to 6 years of experience in
US Residential Mortgage Underwriting
.
Strong knowledge of
mortgage lifecycle processes
Pre-Underwriting, Pre-Purchase, Underwriting, Post-Closing.
Familiarity with
US mortgage documentation, credit analysis, income calculation, and collateral review
.
Experience in handling
loan forms and compliance requirements
.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

Exposure to
Encompass, Calyx, or other mortgage loan origination systems (LOS)
.
Knowledge of agency guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA).
