MongoDB Database Administrator

You are a skilled MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA) with over 5 years of experience, proficient in managing large-scale, distributed environments. Your role involves ensuring the performance, scalability, availability, and security of critical systems. As a MongoDB DBA, your responsibilities include installing, configuring, and managing MongoDB across development, testing, and production environments. You will handle replication, sharding, backups, patching, upgrades, and monitor performance to optimize queries, indexing, and schema. Implementing high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and security best practices are crucial aspects of your job. Collaboration with DevOps and application teams for integration and tuning is essential. Automation of routine DBA tasks using scripting languages like Bash and Python is expected. Additionally, participation in 24x7 support and on-call rotations is required. Key Skills for this role include a deep understanding of MongoDB, particularly replica sets & sharded clusters, with experience working on versions 5.x & 6.x. Proficiency in performance tuning, backup/recovery, Linux scripting, and familiarity with tools such as Ops Manager, Cloud Manager, Ansible, Prometheus, and Grafana are essential. Experience in Agile/DevOps environments is highly valued. Having MongoDB Certification, experience with MongoDB Atlas / AWS DocumentDB, exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and other NoSQL/RDBMS is a plus. Strong soft skills such as troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration are important, along with the ability to work independently and lead when necessary.
