Key Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MongoDB + MSSQL Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize our critical database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in both MongoDB and relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server), with hands-on experience in backup/recovery, performance tuning, high availability, and database security.

MongoDB Administration:

• Install, configure, and manage MongoDB instances (on-prem & cloud Atlas preferred)
• Set up and manage Replica Sets and Sharded Clusters
• Monitor MongoDB performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks
• Perform backup and recovery operations using mongodump / mongorestore / Ops Manager
• Implement security best practices including user authentication and role-based access
• Upgrade and patch MongoDB instances as needed

MSSQL (Microsoft SQL Server) Administration:

• Manage and maintain SQL Server instances (2008 2019 or later)
• Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning
• Configure and maintain HA/DR using AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Clustering, or Log Shipping
• Monitor database health, performance, and tune long-running queries
• Develop and optimize T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, and functions
• Implement security policies and auditing for SQL Server environments

Required Skills and Experience:

• 4+ years of MongoDB administration (Replica sets, sharding, performance tuning)
• 4+ years of MSSQL database administration (Backup/restore, clustering, performance tuning)
• Proficiency in writing and debugging complex SQL and MongoDB queries
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
• Willingness to provide on-call support and work in 24x7 environments if needed
