MIG Welder

Welding Operations:

• Perform MIG welding on various metal types (e.g., mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum) and thicknesses, ensuring strong and clean welds.
• Read and accurately interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols to determine specifications and welding procedures.
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment, including adjusting wire feed speed, voltage, and gas flow for optimal performance.
• Position and secure parts using clamps, jigs, and fixtures to ensure proper alignment before welding.
• Inspect completed welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, and inadequate penetration, and perform necessary reworks to meet quality standards.

Material Handling & Preparation:

• Prepare welding surfaces by grinding, cleaning, and deburring to ensure proper adhesion and weld quality.
• Select appropriate welding consumables (e.g., welding wire, shielding gas) based on material specifications and project requirements.
• Handle and move materials safely within the workstation or shop floor.

Safety & Maintenance:

• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times (welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, fire-resistant clothing).
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition, performing routine checks and minor troubleshooting.
• Ensure a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards.

Quality Control & Documentation:

• Conduct self-inspection of welds to ensure they meet specified quality and dimensional requirements.
• Report any issues with materials, equipment, or processes to the supervisor.
• Complete daily production and quality logs as required.

Team Collaboration:

• Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other welders, fabricators, and production staff to meet deadlines and production goals.
• Provide assistance and support to colleagues as needed.
