About the Role

Middleware Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and support middleware solutions to enable seamless communication between distributed systems.
  
• Implement and maintain

  API management

  ,

  service-oriented architecture (SOA)

  , and

  message-oriented middleware (MOM)

  solutions.
• Work with technologies such as

  IBM WebSphere MQ

  ,

  Apache Kafka

  ,

  MuleSoft

  ,

  TIBCO

  ,

  Oracle Fusion Middleware

  , or

  WSO2

  .
• Develop and manage

  REST/SOAP APIs

  ,

  microservices integrations

  , and

  event-driven architectures

  .
• Collaborate with application developers, architects, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure and high-performance integrations.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve middleware performance issues, connectivity problems, and deployment errors.
  
• Implement

  monitoring

  ,

  logging

  , and

  alerting

  for middleware components.
• Participate in capacity planning, scalability design, and system optimization initiatives.
  
• Document system configurations, integration flows, and standard operating procedures.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  
• 4+ years of experience in middleware or integration engineering roles.
  
• Hands-on experience with one or more middleware platforms such as:
  

• IBM WebSphere MQ / IBM Integration Bus (IIB)

• Apache Kafka

• MuleSoft Anypoint Platform

• TIBCO EMS / BW

• Oracle Fusion Middleware (SOA Suite, OSB)

• Red Hat JBoss EAP / Fuse

• Strong understanding of

  enterprise integration patterns (EIP)

  and

  message queuing

  .
• Proficiency in

  API development and management

  (Apigee, Kong, WSO2, etc.).
• Familiarity with

  Linux/Unix environments

  ,

  scripting (Shell, Python, or Groovy)

  , and

  CI/CD pipelines

  .
• Knowledge of

  security standards

  (SSL, OAuth2, JWT, SAML) and

  performance tuning

  .
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with

  cloud integration platforms

  (AWS SQS/SNS, Azure Service Bus, Google Pub/Sub).
• Exposure to

  containerization

  (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of

  DevOps tools

  (Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience with

  monitoring tools

  such as Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Certification in middleware/integration technologies (e.g., MuleSoft Certified Developer, IBM Integration Bus Developer)
