Mgr. Purchasing

As a Purchasing Manager with Schaeffler, you will play a crucial role in the acquisition phase until SOP by being a part of the project team and serving as the interface to Category Management. Your key responsibilities will include: - Covering material cost, supplier component quality, component timing, and technical feasibility through the supplier. - Ensuring early involvement of Purchasing and suppliers. - Following up on supplier and material status during the product development phase. - Controlling BOM cost and conducting design-to-cost activities. - Implementing cost reduction programs for BU's products post SOP. - Analyzing future material needs of BU and managing technical changes until SOP. - Taking responsibility for sourcing after SOP for BU-specific parts or triggered sourcing. - Developing a material and supplier strategy, conducting market analysis, and driving the strategy definition process with cross-functional partners. - Achieving best market conditions and actively influencing the sourcing process during the development phase. - Driving improvement programs with suppliers. Qualifications required for this role include: - BE in Mechanical / Electronics. - 10-12 years of experience in the Auto Industry. - Industry preference for Automotive OE, T1, & T2. - Location: Pune.
