Role & responsibilities

Material Selection: - Advise on the selection of appropriate metals and alloys based on design requirements, performance criteria, and cost considerations for specific forming processes. • Process Optimization: - Utilize expertise in metal forming processes such as forging, stamping, rolling, and extrusion to optimize production efficiency and quality. • Equipment Operation: - Operate and maintain metal forming equipment, including presses, rollers, stamping machines, and extruders, to ensure optimal performance and safety. • Quality Control: - Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure that formed components meet specified dimensional tolerances, mechanical properties, and surface finish requirements. • Metallurgical Analysis: - Conduct metallurgical analysis of formed materials to assess microstructure, grain size, and mechanical properties, and provide recommendations for process improvements. • Troubleshooting: - Identify and troubleshoot issues that arise during metal forming processes, such as forming defects, tool wear, or material inconsistencies, and implementing corrective actions. • Safety Compliance: - Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards in the metal forming environment to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel. • Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain accurate records of metal forming processes, including process parameters, material certifications, and inspection results, and prepare reports as needed.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. • Minimum of 15 years of experience in metal forming operations, with expertise in forging, stamping, rolling, and extrusion processes. • Strong knowledge of various metal forming techniques, equipment, materials, and tooling design principles. • Proficiency in operating metal forming equipment such as presses, rollers, stamping machines, and extruders. • Experience with metallurgical analysis techniques, including metallography, hardness testing, and tensile testing. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues related to metal forming processes and materials. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams. • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all aspects of metal forming operations.
