Merchant - Underwriter

As an Underwriter at Easebuzz Private Limited, your role will involve reviewing merchant applications and business documentation for underwriting. You will need to approve or reject onboarding requests based on defined risk parameters. Identifying and preventing high-risk or non-compliant merchants will be a crucial part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will be required to continuously monitor live merchant behavior to flag policy violations and detect suspicious transaction activity. Documenting fraudulent patterns, segregating merchants based on risk levels, and efficiently managing internal risk tagging are also key tasks. Collaborating with product/tech teams to enhance the risk engine and automate checks will fall under your purview. Handling transaction disputes, chargebacks, and merchant escalations will be essential aspects of your role. Interacting with partner banks, CPV vendors, and internal teams to resolve queries and staying updated on industry best practices in fraud prevention to implement process improvements are also expected from you. Qualifications Required: - At least 3 years of experience in merchant or credit underwriting (Bank/NBFC/Fintech) - Deep understanding of credit risk, particularly for self-employed or SME merchants - Strong analytical mindset with a focus on risk patterns and fraud indicators - Experience in chargebacks, disputes, and transaction monitoring will be an added advantage - Degree in B.Com / MBA / CA / CS / ICWA or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory This is a full-time position with a salary as per company standards. A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional work experience is required to be eligible for this role.,
