Role Overview: As a Merchandiser at our textile company, you will be responsible for coordinating product development, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality textile products. Your role will involve collaborating closely with design, production, and sales teams, utilizing your communication skills and knowledge of textile and apparel processes. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with designers and product teams to develop new products, monitor trends, and finalize specifications for fabrics, colors, and patterns. - Source and select suppliers for fabrics and trims, negotiate prices and terms, and maintain strong vendor relationships for timely and quality production. - Oversee production schedules, monitor processes, and troubleshoot issues to ensure on-time delivery while upholding quality standards. - Calculate product costs, work within budgets, and ensure competitive pricing while meeting profit margins. - Implement quality standards, monitor production processes, and ensure final products meet company requirements. - Regularly update management on production progress, costs, and any issues; coordinate between internal teams for efficient workflow. - Maintain half-yearly sales reports and stay updated on market trends and technologies. - Must be observant and work with rigor and precision. Qualifications Required: - Decent communication and strong negotiation skills. - Strong knowledge of textile materials, fabrics, and garment construction. - Proficiency in costing, sourcing, and vendor management. - Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver accurate results. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred). Additional Details: The company is hosting a walk-in drive on 7th June 2025 at the HO office in Kolkata. Interested candidates should bring their updated resumes for submission.
