MEP Manager (Building Construction)

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • MEP Drawing & Design:

    Develop, review, and modify MEP service drawings as per project requirements. Ensure compliance with design standards and client specifications.
  • Billing & Estimation:

    Prepare and verify bills of quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and contractor/vendor bills for MEP works. Coordinate with the accounts team for billing approvals.

Vendor and Subcontractor Management:

  • Source and evaluate vendor quotations to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications.
  • Float tenders for subcontractors and finalize contracts based on project needs.
  • Arrange and manage subcontractors for electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, ensuring seamless coordination.
  • Monitor vendor and subcontractor performance for quality and timely delivery.

Project Oversight:

  • Track and monitor MEP progress across multiple project sites from the Head Office.
  • Ensure projects adhere to technical standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Address any technical challenges faced by site teams and provide necessary support.

Coordination:

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and structural engineers to integrate MEP systems effectively.
  • Resolve conflicts between design, site execution, and client requirements.

Compliance and Quality Control:

  • Ensure all MEP systems comply with building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct periodic audits of site installations to ensure alignment with approved designs and quality standards.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain and organize records of designs, drawings, approvals, and changes.
  • Prepare progress reports, technical updates, and performance metrics for stakeholders.

Client and Stakeholder Management:

  • Liaise with government clients such as MES and CPWD to address and resolve project requirements.
  • Prepare and present technical documentation, site updates, and project reports.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-12 years of experience in (Head Office) MEP engineering within the construction industry.
  • Experience with government projects and clients like MES and CPWD is preferable.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD and MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of MEP system designs, codes, and standards.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to review, approve, and optimize project drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and subcontractor arrangement
